After making a grand appearance at the 73rd Milan Motor Show, the new Indian Scout Sixty is now expected to arrive India at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. Its launch in the country is also speculated to take place in the same year and after that, it will be the most affordable motorcycle of the company here.
Currently, Indian Motorcycle offers 4 models in the Chief range, Roadmaster and Scout in our country and the new Scout Sixty will be its 7th offering here. The upcoming Indian Scout looks almost identical to the existing model, however, it is powered by a smaller 999cc (61 cubic inches), liquid-cooled, V-twin engine.
The new motor comes with a 5-speed transmission and delivers up to 75hp of power and a peak torque of 88.8Nm at just 5,800rpm. There are some other minor changes in the styling as well like lesser chrome around the powertrain.
Coming to the mechanicals, 2016 Indian Scout Sixty has 16” wheels on both the front and the rear end that get 130/90 and 150/80 section tyre respectively. Both the wheels have been equipped with a 298mm disc for braking, front with a two-piston caliper and rear with a single-piston caliper.
The Scout Sixty is expected to get a price tag of around Rs. 8.5 lac in India and it will directly rival the Sportster range of Harley-Davidson that includes Iron 883 and Forty-Eight models.
