Kawasaki to launch Z1000 in India, Pre-Bookings Open

The Japanese auto major recently unveiled the new avatar of its super naked motorcycle 2014 Kawasaki Z1000, and soon India will witness this amazing brutal machine. As per some Kawasaki dealers, the bike will be available for demo by December 2013 at their stores. They have already started unofficial pre-booking of the bike at an advance deposit of Rs. 5 lakh.

Kawasaki Z1000 will come to India through CBU route and expected to be priced starting from Rs. 12.5 lakh (on-road). Deliveries against the pre-bookings are expected to start from January 2014.

The bike looks great with its muscular fuel tank, body cowls and twin exhaust pipe at both side. It uses a very distinctive kind of head-lamp using 6 LED units, which have been used first time in any Kawasaki bike. Rear-light also uses LED.

Designed by 'Sugomi Appraoch', the new Z1000 has been made on a twin tubular aluminium frame, and powered by a 1,043cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, inline four mill, which churns out a maximum power of 140bhp @10,000rpm and a peak torque of 111Nm @7,300rpm. The engine is mated with a 6 speed gear-box using a wet multi-disc, manual clutch system for better performance delivery.

The bike features 41mm inverted fork with step-less compression, rebound damping and spring preload adjustability at the front, while Horizontal gas-charged, Back-link suspension with stepless rebound damping and preload adjustability at the rear. To stop the monster machine, the front wheel uses 310mm dual semi-floating petal discs with Dual radial-mount, monobloc, opposed 4-piston calipers, and the rear wheel uses a 250mm petal disc with single-piston caliper.

New Z1000 features all the latest features like fully digital console, Economical Riding Indicator, ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) and Dual Throttle Valves.
