The first pure street twin named Super Duke rolled out of the KTM halls in 2005 and changed the world of motorbikes. The bike uses a 990cc engine and called KTM 990 Super Duke R. It was an extremely agile and muscular unmistakable machine with an aggressive sound. It was a bike to fit no pre-conceived notion and keeping out of no competitor’s way. Over the years, the Super Duke got better and hotter. Now an even bigger and better KTM is coming in the form of 1290 Super Duke R in October 2013.

The 1290 Super Duke R prototype was showcased at the 2012 EICMA, which was looking extremely muscular with its naked chassis having a new 1290cc V-twin, inspired by KTM 1190 RC8 R. And finally, the company has officially declared that they are going to launch a more beasty Super KTM Duke.

You can also see a teaser of the bike on the website, in which a rider is riding the bike on a race track, however the bike has not been showed clearly in the teaser as well.
