Keeping up with the pace and competition of the existing two-wheeler market, Bajaj Auto plans to bring in the second version of its successful cruiser machine Avenger, shortly. Currently, the bike comes loaded with a 220cc power mill that also serves the Pulsar 220 DTS-i. The company will bring the 200cc version of Avenger that is most likely to get its power from the engine used in Pulsar NS 200. With this, the machine will crank out greater power as compared to its existing version with 23.5 horses. The bike is expected to hit roads in the current quarter of this year.
Bajaj Avenger has been a worthy product in the company’s portfolio right since its inception in 2005 and even today has a good demand in India. Seen as the first Indian cruiser motorcycle, it first came with a 200cc, air-cooled mill, followed by a 220cc, air-cooled engine and will now feature back a 200cc motor but this time, it is liquid-cooled. As far as we know, there won't be any major cosmetic update and the bike will continue to feature the same body design and styling.
Commenting on this, Mr. S Ravikumar, Head, Business Development at Bajaj Auto said, “Our market share at the retail level has improved to 19.2 percent by the end of June quarter. With the new Avenger due in Q3, new Pulsars have been very well received and the Discover 125 launched recently domestic volumes are expected to go up.”
The Pune based manufacturer witnessed a pleasant growth of 37 percent in its net income in the first quarter of 2015. The bringing of new products may prove even more fruitful and make it stay as one of the most trusted two-wheeler brands of India.
