President of Mahindra's two-wheeler sector and Member of the Group Executive Board, Mr. Anoop Mathur was retired from their post on 31st March 2014. M&M today announced its subsequent that they are moving their Two-Wheeler business to the Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors (AFS) from April 2014. The sector is headed by Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director and President- AFS. This realignment would help the two-wheeler business take advantage of synergies with AFS across the value chain including R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and human capital.
Following this transition, with effect from 1st April 2014 Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive-Tractor & Farm Mechanization, will look after the Two-Wheeler business in addition to his current responsibility and will continue to report to Dr. Goenka. This realignment would help the two-wheeler business take advantage of synergies with AFS across the value chain including R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and human capital.
Mahindra would like to acknowledge the significant contribution of Mr. Anoop Mathur, who has played a key role in building up the two-wheeler business since its formation in 2008 to its present state where it has presence in both the domestic scooter and motorcycle segments, and its products are being seeded in many international markets. Today the business has a state-of-the-art R&D facility, strong product pipeline, world class manufacturing setup, well entrenched sales and distribution network and, above all, human capital to manage the growth of the business in the future.
