It will rival the soon-to-arrive Piaggio One in European markets
Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer Lifan has taken the wraps off its E4 electric scooter in Italy. The E4 e-scooter is primarily targeted towards youngsters and packs many modern features.
The Lifan E4 was designed in Italy itself and tailored to the needs of European urban mobility. The design language is fairly appealing yet practical, courtesy of elements like a small smoked visor, standout LED head lamp and tail light, and a luggage rack. Moreover, the E4 should also be easy to ride around given its low 780mm seat height and 96kg kerb weight. All this should surely reel in youngsters looking for something eco-friendly to commute on.
Lifan is offering the E4 in two variants -- one with a 1900W battery and other with a 4750W battery. The 1900W version has a top speed of 55kmph along with a claimed range of 80km per charge (at a constant 25kmph), while the 4750W version can reach 70kmph while returning a similar range, albeit at a higher speed (40kmph). Charging time for the smaller variant is 3.5 hours while the other variant takes five hours (both with 8A fast chargers).
The differences also extend to features as an LCD instrument cluster comes standard on the 1200W variant while a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity does duty on the 3000W variant. Along with this, the latter gets a combined braking system too.

Coming to the shared bits, all three variants feature three ride modes (Eco, Dynamic, and Sport) and ride on a 33mm telescopic fork coupled with hydraulic gas-charged shocks and aluminium alloys. Front and rear disc brakes also come standard on all variants.
Prices of the E4 start from 2,390 Euros (approximately Rs 2.2 lakh) and go up to 4,290 Euros (about Rs 3.8 lakh). Now these prices might sound expensive, but the E4 is actually priced competitively for the European market. That said, the chances of it arriving in India are bleak, although if you’re looking for an e-scooter here, take a look at the Ather 450X, the benchmark for premium electric scooters in India.
