New Ather 450S With More Range Incoming!
All the goodness of the 450S but with better range!
Another homologation document of an Ather scooter has surfaced online. According to the document, the Ather 450S could soon get an ‘HR’ variant, something that we think could mean ‘high range’.
The doc says that the upcoming scooter will get a 3.76kWh battery pack, meaning it won’t just be the 3.7kWh 450X with a 450S badging. And that larger battery pack enables a 156km certified range, 10km more than the 3.7kWh 450X. The peak power, meanwhile, stands at 5.4kW, which is on par with the 450S and less than the 450X’s 6.4kW motor. For perspective, the 450S’ current battery capacity stands at 2.9kWh.
While the HR’s wheelbase, width and height have remained the same, the HR’s overall length is also a bit lower than its siblings. Its top speed, though, stands at 80kmph, 10kmph less than the S and the X. Four riding modes (Eco, SmartEco, Ride and Sport) means this one too misses out on Warp mode.

The 450S currently promises a real world range of 90km in SmartEco (115km certified range) so this one’s real world figure could be around the 130km mark and those extra 40km would definitely put many people at ease. With that, expect a nominal price hike over the current Rs 1,29,999 ( ex-showroom Bengaluru including FAME II subsidies ) price that the 450S has. As for its official launch, it could very well be towards the end of the month or early next month. Rivals for the Ather 450S electric scooter include the Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube Electric and the Bajaj Chetak.
