To spread its commuter transport web in the country, Ola is preparing to launch bike taxi services soon. As reported by the sources, Ola will launch the bike taxi service once it clears the regularities formed by the government. The bike taxi service by the company will follow the footsteps of GoJek, Blue-Jek and Grab bike of Indonesia, according to a report by Economic Times. ‘Its an interesting move’ but Ola has to deal with the rules and regulations and if it passes the system than dealing in bike taxis is a good business and have a lot of potential, said Karthik Hosnagar, Professor of technology at The Wharton School.
Mumbai city transport department fired Hey taxi, motorcycle taxi service started in June in Mumbai, as they state the service as illegal. Manoj Maheshwari, co-founder of Hey Taxi said that “ if a four wheeler takes an hour to drop you at your destination, bike taxis takes half time of it. This is the time government should start thinking about it and make the needed regulations.”
Besides this, Ola is planning to launch car pooling service as ‘Ola Share’. San Francisco-based Uber is already in the business of car pool which started in India from Bangalore.
