Electric vehicles have been taking over the Indian two-wheeler market by storm, with start-ups and big auto manufacturers introducing products alike. And apart from competitive features and performance figures, there is also the idea of making the product look different, making it stand apart from not just the ICE’s but also their rivals. So here is a list of the most funky and goofy looking electric bikes and scooters available in India.
Hero Electric Eddy
First up is the latest product from one of the biggest EV manufacturers in the country, Hero Electric. The Eddy is a slow-speed electric scooter that does not require a license to ride. But the most intriguing fact about the scooter is its design, why? Well, it employs an unconventional yet classy design that has a sense of flow, making it look like a unibody design. It gets a rectangular LED headlight with DRLs on the fascia, a boxy shape that will just make you think, oh, Minecraft!.
It offers a claimed range of 85km and a top speed of 25kmph, making it a convenient product for short city rides. The e-scooter is priced at Rs 72,000 (ex-showroom).
NDS Eco Motors Alfa
Moving on from funky to funkier, next up on the list is the Alfa e-scooter by the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer NDS Eco Motors. This scooter is a bit of an all-rounder, with styling elements presenting a sporty, commuter as well as an ADV appeal all at the same time. For the sporty feel, it gets an edgy fascia and bright red calipers on the front disc brake. The side panels and seat make the e-scooter look like a commuter; and to finish off is the front high rise mudguard giving it the ADV treatment. Apart from that it gets a claimed 80km of range and a top speed of 50kmph.

If you like retro, then you will love the One Moto Electa. From the looks of it, the Electa is a vintage scooter from the 1960s and 70s, bearing a striking resemblance to the classic Vespa design, fitted with an electric drivetrain and packing a bunch of modern day features. It gets a clean and minimal styling, with circular headlight and taillight setup, and a large floorboard. Moreover, it gets a commendable 150km claimed range and 80kmph top speed, but comes at an extremely high price of around Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Benling Kriti
Some scooters can even be goofy; for instance, the Benling Kriti. A capable electric scooter, which overall employs a neo-retro theme, it is pretty conventional from the sides and the rear. However, at the front, it gets a massive circular LED headlight that pops out of the body, similar to that of the Honda Scoopy, but extends out more. It is definitely something that will make you look twice as it passes by on the roads. With a 60km claimed range and 25kmph top speed, the scooter makes for a decent city commuter. It is priced at Rs 56,940 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Prevail Electric Wolfury
Keeping the funkiest for the last, we talk about the Prevail Electric Wolfury, which is more or less the embodiment of the term ‘funky e-scooter.’ There is nothing conventional about the design, it will make you question whether it is a scooter, a moped or an e-cycle. It gets a sharp fascia and side body panels, extending a sporty appeal. Interestingly, the e-scooter also gets an auto repair function that gives it a push of 20-25km after a sudden breakdown. It offers a top speed of 50kmph and a claimed range of 110km. It’s priced at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom).
