Premium bikes and Sales: Honda fights hard to touch the top

September has been a favorable month for the premium bike manufacturers. Various companies belonging to particular segment made an exceptional growth in terms of sales, whereas Indian consumers disappointed Honda by not making it their first choice. Honda CBR650F did not turn out the fortune for the company, 21 units were sold out in comparison to 26 in August. Starting with Royal Enfield, the company managed to sell 24,486 units of its Classic 350, 6040 units of Bullet 350, 5364 units of Bullet Electra 350. Enfield’s Thunderbird 500 and Bullet 500 faced decrease in sales of September compared to August 2015.

From the time Triumph landed in the Indian market, it got all the attention from that day. in 2013, Triumph made its footsteps appear in the market and managed to sell 101 units in September 2015. Bonneville and Tiger 800 XR became the bestseller for the company and an overall growth of 36 percent in sales is recorded. Other models of the company, which are in demand of consumers are Triumph Daytona, Bonneville T100 and Thunderbird Storm. KTM also witnessed 11 percent increase in sales with its two ultimate machines Duke and RC twins, which were noted down to be sold 3166 units in September.

September became the best month for Suzuki as the company managed to sell 16 premium bikes in comparison to 3 units sold in August. Bikes appealed the segment for the company were Hayabusa with 12 units sold out, 2 units each of V-Storm and GSX-R1000. For Harley Davidson, Street 750 gave a reason to celebrate as 361 units were sold out in September compared to 85 units in August. Others cruisers of the company were searching the way out of showroom except the Iron 883 that managed to deal 73 units.

Kawasaki has fully enjoyed September following the growth of 157 percent in sales. The company managed to sell 103 units this festive season. On the other hand, Yamaha sold more units than Kawasaki’s total sales. The company grabbed 82 percent hike in sales during the season.
