In our previous report, we claimed that the Yamaha Motor is planning to launch the updated FZS by the end of 2014. Now, an uncamouflaged unit of the FZS Version 2.0 has been spotted, which was looking production ready.
The spy picture reveals that the bike is about to launch and we believe that the company will launch the 2014 Yamaha FZS in the Q2 of this fiscal year. The bike recieves lots of cosmetic changes, which can be seen in the spy shots. However, we are also expecting some technical updates in the new model, which will improve the performance of the bike.
The new Yamaha FZS is almost similar to the concept model showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February. Whole body work of the bike looks all new with some tweaks in the design of every part including fuel tank, headlamp, tail lamp, seat, rear grab rail and mudguards.
Some major changes have been done in the console, tank cowls and exhaust pipe. The new cowls on the fuel tank also gets air scoops, which increases the cooling efficiency for the engine as well as enhancing the looks of the bike. The company has replaced the old Mid-Ship muffler with a more sporty, chrome garnished exhaust.
The company is already giving a fully digital console with the bike, however, now it will be more stylish and easy to read. There will be a rectangular LCD screen, which will provide all the required information on the ride.
In technical updates, we are expecting the new bike to be introduced with electronic fuel injection (EFI) technology, which might increase the power output of the bike upto 15bhp. The cosmetic changes might slightly increase the cost of the bike, however, the technical update will surely raise the prices atleast by Rs. 6,000-8,000.
