The Bear 650 is Royal Enfield’s most tech-loaded 650cc motorcycle till date!
Royal Enfield recently unveiled the Bear 650, a scrambler style motorcycle, which is based on the Interceptor 650. The Bear is the most feature-loaded 650cc bike from the manufacturer till date; let’s have a detailed look at the features list:
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 gets a 4-inch TFT console which we have previously seen on the Himalayan 450 and the Guerrilla 450. The TFT screen supports full Google Maps navigation and Bluetooth connectivity which allows for call/SMS alerts and music control. The TFT screen has a neat and easy-to-read layout. It displays gear-position indicator, tachometer and also shows the speed. When the Google Maps navigation is enabled, the TFT displays the map on the upper half of the screen and shows the speed, gear position indicator, and the fuel gauge on the lower half. Other features of the Bear 650 include LED lights all round, a USB charging port, adjustable brake and clutch lever, and switchable ABS, which can be turned off for the rear wheel.
The Bear 650 gets the same engine as the Interceptor 650, a 648cc parallel-twin air-cooled motor which produces 47.4PS at 7,150rpm but the Bear 650 makes 56.5Nm at 5,150rpm which is 4.5Nm more than the Interceptor 650. The suspension includes an inverted fork with 130mm wheel travel and hydraulic shock absorbers with 115mm of wheel travel. The long travel suspension and the 19/17-inch spoke wheels result in an increased ground clearance of 184mm. The kerb weight of the Bear 650 is 216kg.
Royal Enfield has not announced the prices of the Bear 650 which they will do so on the 5th of November at the EICMA motor show. We expect the Bear 650 to command a premium over the Interceptor 650 and to be priced at Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
