It doesn’t compromise on practicality despite the bobber-themed looks
An upcoming bobber based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350, likely to be called the Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 was spotted testing again, revealing a few interesting details about the upcoming Royal Enfield bike.
Coming to the design, in the front the Shotgun 350 sports a headlight nacelle, telescopic fork with fork covers and side panels that is similar to what we have seen on the Classic 350. But the new bike manages to differentiate itself with its signature ape hanger handlebar along with a slightly forward set footpegs which gives the bike a unique bobber characteristic.
The fuel tank looks similar to the one on the Classic 350 but the seating setup is different. In the photos we can see that the bike comes with a dual seat setup but the pillion seat is likely to be a removable unit similar to what we have seen on its larger sibling, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.
The rear section is different from what we have seen on the Classic, it comes with a chopped swingarm-mounted rear fender and features a tail light and indicator setup that looks identical to what’s on the Shotgun 650. From another line of spy shots that came out earlier, we were able to know that the Shotgun 350 could come with LED lighting but will this be standard is something we don’t know for sure. The exhaust used is a slash-cut exhaust instead of a peashooter one featured in the Classic 350.
In terms of accessories, Royal Enfield has given the Shotgun 350 a pannier on the right side. it is the “Black Commuter Pannier” that’s already offered in the Classic 350. The bike is also likely to get a similar range of accessories including a engine guard, crash guards and other parts that are already available on the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Meteor 350 and the Hunter 350.
Powering this upcoming bobber will be the same 349cc air-cooled, single-cylinder J-series engine that produces 20.2PS and 27Nm. The bike also gets a similar suspension setup as the Classic: a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers.
The brakes are likely to be the same as what is offered on the Classic. But one thing that is different here is that the Shotgun 350 appears to have a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup as opposed to the 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke/alloy wheel setup that we have seen on the Classic.
The Shotgun 350 is likely to be launched in mid-2024 and will compete with other bobber offerings currently in the market like the Jawa Perak and the Jawa 42 Bobber.
