- Mechanically, the two motorcycles remain unchanged.
Despite limited communication from the brand, we learnt the new prices of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 BS6 and the Continental GT 650 BS6 a while back. Recently, the BS6 bikes started arriving at dealerships, sporting a tiny new cat-con on each of the exhaust pipes. We have now finally got our hands on the new power rating of the BS6-compliant engine.
The 648cc parallel-twin engine now pumps out 47.45PS -- a drop of 0.2PS from its BS4 counterpart. The registration documents we’ve received neither show any other changes to the motorcycle nor reveal the new torque or weight figures. That said, we do not expect any major changes.
Here’s the new price list of the BS6-compliant version of the Enfield 650 Twins:
Now starting from Rs 2.64 lakh, the Interceptor 650 BS6 has become a lot pricier since its launch in late-2018. The original pricing of Rs 2.50 lakh was just Rs 2,000 more than the KTM 390 Duke. Over the course of 12 months, the prices of the bike have shot up. Now, after the BS6 transition, the price difference between the two bikes is a whole Rs 13,000. Nevertheless, the Interceptor 650 continues to remain the most affordable twin-cylinder motorcycle on sale in the country, making it a great value buy.
