This barebones electric moped can go 60km on a single charge
Indians may not be as well-versed with the name, but Detel is a big player in the electronics department, producing items like power banks, phone charging cables, and, believe it or not, TVs and home theatre systems. The company is now dabbling in electric mobility and has launched its newest offering -- the Easy Plus -- at the Ride Asia Expo in Delhi.
The Easy Plus costs Rs 39,999 and is a barebones electric moped meant for short city commutes. Pre-bookings have started for a token of Rs 1,999. For the same price, you could also take a look at the Gemopai Miso.

This cute little city runabout is available in four colours: Metallic Red, Pearl White, Gunmetal Metallic Black, and Metallic Yellow. You can see how basic this moped is as there are just two body panels and one floorboard. The seat, too, is slim and compact. Surprisingly, the Easy Plus arrives with pedals (much like the old Kinetic Luna), allowing you to pedal it to your home should you run out of juice.
The mini moped gets a rather small 250W motor, capable of propelling it to a top speed of 25kmph. Even the battery specs aren’t too impressive; the 20Ah lithium-ion unit takes three hours for a full charge, and in return, only goes for around 60km.
An exposed underbone chassis, telescopic fork, and a motorcycle-esque swingarm make up the foundations of the Easy Plus. It rides on large 16-inch rims with slim tyres.
