Team Hero EBR to debut in 2014 World Superbike Championship

Erik Buell Racing (EBR) has announced its entry in 2014 World Superbike Championsip (WSBK) with its key partner Hero MotoCorp (HMCL). The 2 riders' team has been christened 'Team Hero EBR', which will take participation in the event starting from 23rd February at Philip Island. India's leading two-wheeler manufactirer HMCL has 49.2% stakes in the American superbike brand EBR.
MD & CEO, Hero MotoCorp, Mr. Pawan Munjal said, "We are delighted to be partnering with EBR at the Superbike World Championship this year. Hero is the first Indian two-wheeler brand to be associated with this event and this is also the debut year for Team Hero EBR at the series. This is in perfect sync with brand Hero's fast-paced global expansion into new international markets. I am sure it is going to be a lot of fun and we do look forward to some exciting times at the championships this year."
Team manager, Team Hero EBR, Mr. Giulio Bardi sid, "We are delighted to announce our plans to compete in the 2014 World Superbike championship.The entire team is excited and looking forward to the challenge ahead. Our riders Geoff and Aaron are both proven front runners within the AMA championship and will bring a wealth of riding experience to our campaign. We have a lot of work to do but when the lights go out for the opening race at Phillip Island in February, we will be ready."
Riders of the team Geoff May and Aaron Yates, both are proved riders of AMA Championship. May is an accomplished top AMA rider with many top finishes in AMA Superbike, not the least of which have been his great results on the 2012 EBR 1190RS. “I love being with this team. With the EBR guys behind me and this amazing motorcycle getting its first full season, I feel very confident we’ll see a lot of success in 2012,” says May.
Aaron also stands among the top AMA rider with 20 years of experience, filled with a number of AMA championships and Superbike podiums. “I am really feeling good about 2013. After two years off from injury, I came back in 2012 for a few races with a really good private crew, and it felt great. When EBR brought me and that crew onboard for Team AMSOIL/Hero, I knew we would be able to hit the ground running. Geoff and I are good friends, and work really well as teammates. So I am ready to go.” says Aaron.
Both the riders will compete on the new 2014 EBR 1190RX superbike. It will be the debut race of the team and EBR is the first American brand to be a part of this race series, which also suits for the leading Indian two wheeler manufacturer HMCL, which is also taking part in this race for the first time.
