When Suzuki came with an idea to assemble its legendary machine, the Hayabusa in India, it brought a smile to the faces of many. With the local assembly at Suzuki’s Gurgaon plant, the cost of this mighty machine came down by approximately Rs. 2.38 lakhs. That made it a lot cheaper than its closest competition, the Kawasaki ZX-14R. Now, the news has come out that the Indian version of the Hayabusa is likely to get minimal changes.
The Indian version of the motorcycle will get a neatly designed saree guard that is split into two pieces close to the left exhaust and a front number plate holder on the mudguard. This is all you will see different on the Indian model. Besides that, everything in this giant superbike will remain the same.
The bike is seen in many chasing scenes in Bollywood flicks. A quick recap, the Hayabusa houses a 1,340cc inline four, DOHC engine that helps it to reach a top speed of 312kmph (but restricted to 299kmph only). Its tagline “Ultimate Sports in Timeless Styling” goes absolutely right considering the power and styling it comes with. It is available in three colours - Candy Daring Red, Pearl Bracing White and Metallic Thunder Grey. For safety purposes, it has been offered with high-performance ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
