Thus marking yet another high point, literally, for the onslaught of electric two-wheelers

We’ve all heard of ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles making it to various far-flung corners in the treacherous mountains of North India, but not so often do you see an electric scooter achieving the same feat. Well, things have changed, and how: Just recently, not one but two TVS iQube Electric scooters have made it to the world’s highest EV charging station (3,810m), in picturesque Kaza, Himachal Pradesh.

A few years ago history was the witness to TVS’ petrol-powered scooters tasting Himalayas. So it makes sense for the iQube Electric to follow the path. This cements the push for electric mobility in India and the early adoption of electric vehicles as well.

Currently, the TVS iQube Electric is priced at Rs 1,00,777 (on-road Delhi) and is available in other cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune, Kochi, Surat, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. We’ve even compared its range, speed, acceleration and other performance numbers against the Jupiter ZX. Here are the results.

In related news, the Hosur-based bikemaker has recently acquired a major stake in an electric bike company called EGO Movement. So, you can expect TVS to launch its own electric bicycles in India by 2023. The company plans to add six more models, consisting of e-motorcycles and e-scooters, to its EV portfolio soon. Here are the details.

It’s evident that TVS is all in for the electric market in India and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for EV mobility in the country.
