The new trademark filings have given us a decent idea of the 2024 Destini 125’s design
- Hero MotoCorp is working on an updated Destini 125
- It will feature a reworked design, with both modern and retro styling
- Could be launched in India this festive season
A new design patent for the updated Hero Destini 125 has leaked and it is clear what Hero MotoCorp has been working on. It gets a reworked design combining both modern and retro styling. The design patent image reveals quite a bit about the scooter’s design, particularly its rear and tail light section.
Looking at the design, it is clear that the upcoming Destini 125 gets a cubby hole and a luggage hook mounted on the apron. It gets a large single piece seat, with a chunky looking pillion grabrail and backrest. The tail light section looks quite sleek, with turn indicators and the tail light integrated quite well. We expect the tail light to be an LED unit most likely. Another thing that stands out is the external fuel filler placed above the tail light section, it also adds a level of practicality to the scooter overall.
Earlier images of the scooter’s design were leaked online and we got a good look at the scooter’s design. Judging by the images it is clear that Hero has made a lot of changes, giving the scooter a boxy design overall. The scooter now gets a H-shaped headlight and copper accents, giving it a more premium look.
The scooter will likely be powered by the same 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.12PS and 10.4Nm. It gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock mounted on the left side. It will feature 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. In terms of features the scooter will likely come with a digital instrument console, with features such as smartphone connectivity, call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
We expect the 2024 Destini 125 to come at a premium of Rs 5,000 over the current model, which for perspective costs Rs 86,538 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will likely be launched by this festive season, so around November 2024. After launch, it will go up against other 125cc scooters in the market such as the Honda Activa 125 and the TVS Jupiter 125.
