- Gets a modern touch with alloy wheels
We recently came across a spy shot showing what appears to be an updated Hero HF Dawn being tested. Judging by the image, it is clear that Hero has made a couple of changes to the bike’s design giving it a more modern touch. Here’s everything you need to know.
The spy shot shows a retro style bike with a round headlight, dual-pod instrument console and a sloper-like engine. This means that the bike in question is likely the Hero HF Dawn, a commuter offering from the Jaipur-based manufacturer.
The bike manages to retain that retro-styling, but this time with a few modern touches here and there. In terms of design, the old metallic pillion grab handle has been replaced with a new aluminum one, which also looks quite sleek. It looks similar to the one used on the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec variant.
The previous generation Hero HF Dawn rolled on spoke wheels with tube tyres, the updated version of the bike features a alloy wheel setup as shown in the spyshot, likely with tubeless tyres. This is a welcome change and will make it easier to deal with punctures.
Other than this, the bike seems to remain unchanged. It will be powered by the same 97.2cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Hero Splendor Plus and the Hero HF Deluxe. The engine produces 8PS and 8.05Nm.
In terms of underpinnings, except for the addition of the alloy wheels everything remains the same. The HF Dawn is suspended on a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It rolls on 18-inch wheels at both ends, with braking duties being handled by drum units at both ends.
Currently, Hero’s most affordable offering is the Hero HF Deluxe which starts at a price of Rs 59,998 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Hero could likely be bringing back the HF Dawn as an alternative to the HF Deluxe, and one that offers a slightly retro design which many buyers will appreciate.
We can expect the upcoming Hero HF Dawn to be priced similar to the Hero HF Deluxe, starting at an ex-showroom price of around 60,000 ex-showroom. We can expect the bike to be launched sometime in 2025. It will go up against other commuter offerings in the 100cc segment such as the Honda Shine 100 and the Bajaj Platina 100.
