Watch Video: Ather Rizta Traction Control & Magic Twist Features Explained
Ather’s first Family EV gets a bunch of fancy features
After leading the charge in the sporty electric scooter segment for years, Ather has entered the family scooter segment with the launch of Rizta. This electric scooter isn’t as sporty as the 450X, but it gets a bunch of premium and fancy features, namely Skid Control and Magic Twist.
Skid Control
With the Rizta, Ather has introduced its own version of traction control called Skid Control. The primary function of this system is to restrict delivering excess power to the rear wheel and reduce the chances of the wheel slipping. Now, the front wheel of the Ather Rizta gets a sensor that detects the speed of the front wheel, and accordingly, it controls the amount of power going to the rear wheel, to ensure both wheels spin at the same rate. Magic Twist
Ather first introduced ‘Magic Twist’ on the Ather 450 Apex, and now, the Rizta gets a better-calibrated version. The ‘Magic Twist’ is equivalent to engine braking on a petrol-powered motorcycle and helps you reduce the scooter’s speed in a very controlled manner without applying the brakes. Using it is also pretty easy, as all you have to do is twist the throttle in the opposite direction. You can check out our reel below, explaining the whole process visually.
Both these features make the Ather Rizta standout as a safe, practical and feature-packed family electric scooter. The prices for the Rizta start at Rs 1,09,999 and go up to Rs 1,44,999 (all prices ex-showroom Bengaluru, including EMPS, Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme).
