World Famous Motorcycle Designer Pierre Terblanche Joins Royal Enfield

The world famous Motorcycle designer- Pierre Terblanche has joined the Indian motorcycle brand- Royal Enfield, a subsidiary of Eicher Motors. He has worked with many international brands like Volkswagen, Ducati, Moto Guzzi and Norton. Before joining the RE, Pierre was working with one of the most interesting bike makers- Confederate and designed the latest X132 Hellcat Speedster.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director & CEO, Eicher Motors Limited said, “I am very excited that Pierre Terblanche has recently joined our team; he is one of the most prolific industrial designers for motorcycles, and is best known for having created some extra-ordinary motorcycles as the head of design for Ducati for over a decade.”
He also told, “At Royal Enfield, we have set our sights on becoming the leaders in global mid-sized motorcycling segment and we are working towards it persistently. While we continue to ramp up capacity at our Oragadam plant month on month; we have recently acquired a 50 acre plot in Vallam Vadagal, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This plot is located within 10 kms of our Oragadam facility. This prepares us for future expansion to meet the growing demand of our motorcycles worldwide.”
Pierre Terblanche is a South African motorcycle designer, who started his career with advertising field. However, soon he realise that he is made for designing. Then he started his designing career with Volkswagen under the legendary designer- Massimo Tamburini. When the company aquired Ducati in 2007, Pierre choose to work with the motorcycle brand. Subsequently, he joined Piaggio to work on Moto Guzzi bikes, along with his former colleague Miguel Angel Galluzzi (the designer of Ducati Monster).
