Scrambler-style bikes are great for modifications and here is one such example for you. This scrambler is built on the legendary two-stroke Yamaha RX100 by the team at YCDesign Motorcycle Restoration which is based in the heart of Mumbai, India. Yogi Chhabria, the owner of the custom house is well known for his craft of modifying bikes into interesting builds like this one.
This modified Yamaha RX100 gets a proper makeover with a stunning paint job, and custom aftermarket parts carefully chosen for the scrambler transformation. At first glance, our eyes are drawn to the beautiful dual-tone red and white colour of the bike. The front stock fender has been replaced with a custom-made fender that hugs the knobby tyre while leaving enough clearance for it. The front drum brake has also been replaced with a disc brake which offers more stopping power. Overall, parts like the headlight housing, chassis, engine casing and exhaust have been given a subtle matte black finish. The bike is equipped with a smaller single-pod instrument console, a wider aftermarket handlebar and bar-end mirrors.
Coming to the back, the seat is reupholstered in black with red accents to complement the bike’s paint job. The bike gets new shock absorbers that help soak in bumps and potholes with ease. At the rear, it has a custom \ fender which is a lot smaller than the stock one with a tail tidy to mount the number plate. Overall, the bike preserves its 3D ‘Yamaha’ and ‘RX100’ badging on the fuel tank and side panels. In terms of performance, the bike has been kept in stock condition, in which it already made enough power to put a smile on the rider’s face.
As per the custom house, the cost for a build like this starts from 2.5 lakh which includes the bike with all the legal paperwork and custom work. The RX100 is a legend not only of the past but still turns heads with its "ring-ding-ding" exhaust sound. Many enthusiasts are waiting for Yamaha to bring this legend back.
