The current three-wheeler that are presently there in the European market are Piaggio MP3 and the Peugeot Metropolis 400i. Today at 2014 Bangkok International Motor Show, Yamaha has introduced its debuting leaning Multi-wheel model christened as Yamaha Tricity. The manufacturer for the first time showcased its concept model at the 2013 EICMA Motorcycle Show. This vehicle is based on the standard concepts of leaning multi-wheel machines, while making it look most extraordinary and appealing.
Yamaha has used a 125cc, 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine to empower Tricity. The engine is associated with an automatic transmission that makes it more convenient and a better performer. Being slimmer and more agile in its section, it weighs around 150kg.
Yamaha by giving it a compact engine has created a whole new segment of leaning Multi-wheel models. The company has concentrated on the weight and usage of the machine and has created quite a different product than that of Peugeot and Piaggio.
As India is still not grown in this segment, Yamaha will not be bring Tricity so they have decided to launch this vehicle in the European market in the end of Q2 or in the beginning of the Q3, 2014.
