Yamaha YZF R3 BS4 Summary
The BS4 Yamaha YZF-R3 has been discontinued in India, according to dealership sources. It's likely to be replaced by the international-spec model that's sold in the European markets. The Euro-spec R3 is yet to be updated to Euro-5 compliance, so if Yamaha decides to bring it to our shores it will have to update the motor to meet BS6 emission norms. However, it remains to be seen whether the engine’s output figures will change. Expect the updated BS6 R3 to hit Indian shores by 2021. The 2019 R3 that was unveiled at 2018 EICMA features a new design language, which looks similar to the new-gen R1. It also gets new LED headlights, revised ergonomics, and an inverted fork. Expect the India-bound bike too to be equipped with an inverted fork to keep costs in check. For the uninitiated, the 321cc engine makes 42PS of power and 29.6Nm of peak torque. While the current BS4 Yamaha YZF-R3 costs Rs 3.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), expect the facelifted model to be priced at around Rs 3.7 lakh to Rs 3.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete against the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, Benelli 302R and Kawasaki Ninja 300.

- Till now I'm very satisfied
Till now I'm very satisfied with the r3 but the mileage seems kinda problem😅 till than so far it's been a good bike and a friendly motorcycle
- Great Experience
Simply superb, The bike offers impressive performance, comfort, and features, all powered by an excellent engine.
- A love that few can posses mileage is absolutely fantastic
I just want people to know upfront that the 30+kmpl mileage is absolutely fantastic. In real life, R3 gives about 18-20kmpl in the city and 25kmpl on the highways. If you are buying an R3 with mileage in mind, when you're wired in ways, it may cause short circuits. I have owned one since Feb of 2020, probably the last one in India at the time, and can vouch for the excellence of the machine that it is. Especially in cruising. The ergonomics is so comfy. It’s mainly a tourer really, but can be just as good a daily go-to riding vehicle. Anyone who owns a showroom owned R3 can vouch that it’s the greatest sub 500cc bike in the Indian market, and by far at that when wholistic consideration is a thing.Read More
