Now, the time has come to look back what all has happened during the year in two-wheeler industry. 2015 was a fantastic year for the bike enthusiasts as highly awaited bikes like Yamaha YZF-R3, CBR 650F, Yamaha R1 & R1M launched in India. Also, a few foreign companies like MV Agusta and Regal Raptor have finally landed on the Indian soil. Few days back, Yahoo disclosed a list of top ten searched launches on its search engine. Here's is a list of top 10 most searched motorcycles on Yahoo.
10. Yamaha Saluto
Though Yamaha Saluto wasn’t able to get much success but it successfully reached the tenth position in the list of top 10 searched launches on Yahoo. The company brought this 125cc commuter at Rs. 52,000 (Ex-Showroom). The bike is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled engine that generates 8.2bhp of power and 10.1Nm of torque. Thanks to its ‘Blue Core Technology’, the motorcycle returns a healthy claimed mileage of 78kmpl.
9. Ducati Scrambler
One of the most popular motorcycles from the Ducati India lineup, the Scrambler is undoubtedly a unique offering available in the Indian market. The bike deserves to be in the list of most searched motorcycles of the year. It is equipped with 803cc, L-twin engine and its ease of use make it a suitable machine for Indian Roads.
8. Suzuki Gixxer SF
The launch of Suzuki Gixxer took the market by storm and came as a clear winner in the segment. Earlier this year, Suzuki launched the faired version of Gixxer called, the Gixxer SF. Known for its excellent performance and riding comfort, the bike has garnered huge success in the market and has won several awards under its name. This 155cc premium commuter has been developed in the same tunnel where the Legendary Hayabusa has been made, The bike not just achieved wonderful sales figures but also was amongst the most searched motorcycles of the year.
7. Bajaj CT100
Earlier this year, Bajaj re-introduced one of its highest selling 100cc commuter motorcycles, the CT100. The bike already had a decent fan following and very well expected to be ranked somewhere in the list, but surprisingly it reached the seventh place in this ladder. When it was launched for the first time, it got the nice response from the market due to its amazing mileage and the new model follows the same and brings out an impressive mileage of 89.5kmpl.
6. Yamaha YZF-R3
There is no doubt why Yamaha R3 has been placed in the list. It was amongst the most awaited motorcycles of the year and the Yamaha launched it in a grand event at BIC in the presence of its brand ambassador, John Abraham. The bike is high on practicality and features that make it a complete package. It is equipped with 321cc, DOHC, 4 valves, liquid cooled parallel twin engine that puts out 41.4bhp and 29.6Nm.
5. Mahindra Mojo
Mahindra finally launched its most awaited motorcycle, Mojo this year. The bike has been placed at the 5th position in the list of most searched motorcycle of 2015 on Yahoo. While comparing it with CBR250 and KTM Duke 390, the bike might not come good in terms of looks, speed, and acceleration, but definitely offers better riding and comfort for both rider and a pillion. The 295cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that produces 27bhp of power and 30Nm of torque.
4. Bajaj Avenger Street/Cruise
Bajaj Avenger has always been a popular motorcycle in the country thanks to its cruiser like looks. This year, Bajaj re-introduced its popular Avenger again in two models and three variants including Street 150, Street 220 and Cruise 220. Compared to the previous generation Avenger, the new models have been offered with new looks and more power. The popularity of the motorcycles took it to the fourth spot in the list.
3. Bajaj Pulsar AS
A semi-faired version of NS200, this year Bajaj brought another variant in its highly popular ‘Pulsar’ series’, the Bajaj Pulsar AS200. The AS of the motorcycle stands for Adventure Sports, which it fails to justify. Due to the popularity of the ‘Pulsar’ motorcycles, AS200 created a buzz in the market and has been searched quite a lot. Due to the same reason, it has been placed at the third spot in the list.
2. Honda Livo
Honda’s 110cc commuter, Livo takes the second position in the list. Honda Livo was introduced to replace CB Twister, which tasted the mild success in the Indian two-wheeler industry. With the launch itself, it get the decent sales figures and has placed amongst the highest selling 110cc motorcycles of 2015. Based on Honda’s Dream Series Platform, Livo keeps the reliability and trust that Honda built since its introduction in the country.
1. Bajaj Pulsar RS 200
Claimed to be the fastest motorcycle in the Pulsar series, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is not just fast but is also known for its easy to ride nature. The bike has reached the top spot for all the good reasons and has been a big hit since its launch in the country. There seems to be a lot of interest in the Pulsar RS200, no wonder its gets the first place in the list.
