Yamaha India has announced a press-con on August 11, which most probably will serve as a launch pad for this much awaited sportsbike. With the launch of R3, company is looking to target the entry level racing enthusiasts.
According to the reports, Yamaha was considering smaller R25 for the Indian market, but due to its relevance to the competition, it decided to go with R3. The bike will be locking horns with Kawasaki Ninja 300 and KTM RC390.
This fully faired sportsbike will feature 321cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that can produce the maximum power output of 41 bhp at 10,750 rpm and the highest torque of 29.6 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The engine of this Japanese giant is mated with 6-speed transmission.
Though the company is a bit late to the party, but R3 could be a strong contender in the Indian market. Let's wait and see, whether it can ride the similar success wave of R15 or not..
