Roadmaster Expert Review
Overview
Indian Motorcycles, after enlightening the Indian two-wheeler industry with the launch of Indian Scout, has introduced its masterpiece- the Roadmaster. Priced competitively against Harley Davidson Street Glide Special and Honda Gold Wing GL1800, the bike is loaded with premium features and built with sheer perfection.
Indian Roadmaster looks extraordinary with its skirted fenders, Genuine Leather Seats with Desert Tan shade, luggage compartments turned adornments, highly informative instrumentation and gigantic yet eye-pleasing engine.
The machine is made run on an 1811cc, air-cooled, V-Twin Thunder Stroke 111 engine, which is company’s star motor. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is configured to produce a peak torque of 161.6Nm at 3000rpm. With hefty torque it runs flawlessly, transmissions are smooth and fuel efficiency is fine with the assistance of closed loop fuel injection.
Bolted on a cast aluminum frame with integrated air box, its dimensions are pretty magnified. The suspensions that help the ride stabilize are 43mm cartridge front telescopic forks and pneumatically adjustable rear mono-shock. It propels on Dunlop Elite 3 - 130/90 front and 180/60 rear tubeless tyres. Dual 300mm floating disc brakes with 4-piston caliper are equipped to the front wheel while the rear is set with 300mm single disc brake with 2-piston caliper.
Anti-lock brake system, tyre pressure monitoring system, GPS, Audio system with Bluetooth, etc. are also bestowed on the Indian Roadster that helps it shine brighter and hold a larger market share.
