The most popular Bike Company Yamaha on completion of 50 years in Grand Prix racing is coming up with Yamaha R1 to enrich the heritage line of Yamaha Bikes. The wait for the sensational 998 cc Yamaha R1 is expected to end by Oct 2012 when it will launch in India in four colors,  Raven, Pearl White/Candy Red, Blue/White at a price of $13990 with an additional $500 for the special edition. Yamaha R1 price in India is yet to be announced.

The Yamaha R1, the latest upcoming and awaited model by Yamaha Bikes with MotoGP technology has been designed to launch in 2012 with more innovations compared to the  World-Championship-winning YZR-M1. Yamaha R1 keeps all the technical superiorities of its predecessors with a promising change of six stage Traction Control System that will help reducing tire wear because of less wheel spin.

In Sports Bike, there are two things that make youngsters go crazy, one is the looks/style and other is the roaring sound. The Yamaha R1 features a new headlight cowl designed to impress by its aggressive and tough looks. This Yamaha Bike is enriched with LED position lights to make night viewing and traveling easier than before.  The sound on the Yamaha R1 is different than any other similar four cylinder supersport, which will not leave you unnoticed in any crowd.

Another addition to its style icon Yamaha R1 is the 50th Anniversary emblem on the fuel tank along with a special numbered plate denoting limited edition of 2000 units being produced. Gold Yamaha badges are pasted on the front, rear and the fuel tank of the motorcycle. Yamaha R1 prepared by Japanese manufacturer has been updated for American markets. The Yamaha R1 blue color version will make a preferred choice in Europe and in India. The aluminium frame in Yamaha Bikes is offering exceptional crisp handling and balance.
