Now the Ducati Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 have received a massive update
Ducati unveiled 2 updated bikes at EICMA 2024, the new Ducati Panigale V2 and the updated Streetfighter V2. Both the bikes have undergone changes to their design, performance and underpinnings. Here’s everything you need to know.
New Ducati Panigale V2
The new Ducati Panigale V2 has undergone some interesting styling changes. The headlight section is a lot sharper than before and the bike now manages to look a lot more aggressive. The fairing has also seen a few changes, such as the addition of passive ventilation, which would make it easier to ride the bike without having to worry about heating issues at lower speeds.
The underbelly exhaust setup has also been swapped out for a new twin undertail setup, which makes the bike look a lot more aggressive and sporty than before.
The bike is powered by a new 890cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine which outputs 121.6PS at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. Compared to the current Panigale V2, this is a drop in performance of 35PS and 10Nm.
But the bike manages to make up for this with a reduction in weight. The Panigale V2 has dropped 14kg and now weighs 179kg, while the V2 S weighs 176kg (-17kg).
Underpinnings wise, the Panigale V2 features a suspension setup that comprises a 43mm fully adjustable inverted fork from Marzocchi and a monoshock from KYB, whereas the Panigale V2 S gets a fully adjustable Ohlins inverted fork and monoshock.
The bike rolls on 17-inch alloys with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. Braking duties are handled by a twin 320mm disc setup at the front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. The new Panigale also features a double sided swingarm setup, instead of a single-sided one as we have seen on the currently available Panigale V2.
In terms of features, the bike gets a 5-inch TFT console and a bunch of electronic riding aids. It has 3 riding modes on offer, which modulate the bike’s throttle response and ABS intervention.
The 3 riding modes include: Road, Road Pro, and Track. Other electronic riding aids on offer include: traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control and engine braking control.
The Panigale V2 currently sells in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 20.98 lakh ex-showroom. We expect the updated Panigale V2 to come at around the same price range.
New Ducati Streetfighter V2
The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 gets the same engine and underpinnings as the Panigale V2, but loses the bodywork. Ducati has made a lot of changes to the bike’s design and it now features a sharper looking headlight section and overall manages to look like a regular streetfighter.
The bike also gets the same twin undertail exhaust setup, which adds a lot more character to the bike when compared to the current version which gets an underbelly exhaust setup. Overall, the new Streetfighter V2’s design feels a lot more coherent and Ducati has managed to execute this update quite well.
The 2024 Streetfighter V2 is sold in India at a price of Rs 18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Both the Panigale V2 and the Streetfighter V2 could come to India sometime in 2025 and be priced higher than the current versions.
