A host of updates have been implemented to make the bike more refined

For the 2017 model, MV Agusta have primarily worked towards making the Brutale 800 more refined while also making it Euro IV compliant.

In terms of styling, the bike gets new graphics, tank extensions, LED tail lamps with integrated LED indicators and a split seat with retractable passenger grab handles. The wheels are new forged units.

The 798cc three-pot motor is more refined and engine noise is claimed to have reduced by 50 per cent due to the use of a new cylinder head that uses a harmonic damper, new cams and valve guides and a new camchain tensioner. For Euro-4 compliance, the motor gets a new twin fuel-injector setup for better combustion efficiency. Power is up, with the motor now giving out 142Ps and 85Nm of torque.

Electronics also receive an update that includes revised ride-by-wire,  quickshifter and slipper clutch. An on-board diagnostic function is integrated into the instrument console. Safety-wise, there is eight-level traction control and Bosch ABS 9 Plus with rear lift mitigation.

The 800 gets a new steering damper that can be manually adjusted eight ways. Suspension setup includes fully-adjustable 43mm Marzocchi upside down forks with an external adjustment for compression and rebound. A fully-adjustable Sachs monoshock  damper completes the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 320mm floating discs clamped by four-piston calipers at the front, and a 220mm disc at the back.

The 2017 Brutale 800 gets two colors - Red Shock Pearl / Carbon Black Metallic and Ice / Carbon Black Metallic.
