2016 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Coming To India By End-2016

After its official entry and the launch of three of its superbikes in India, MV Agusta is slated to bring the 2016 Brutale 800 into the country by late-2016.

Recently, one of the most exotic high-performance Italian motorcycle manufacturers, MV Agusta, officially entered India with three drop-dead gorgeous superbikes -- the Brutale 1090, which is a litre-class streetfighter, and two full-faired supersport machines, the F3 800 and the F4. At the launch, the company also announced that the 2016 Brutale 800 -- which was globally introduced recently -- is also on the cards for the Indian market.

Company officials stated that the new Brutale 800 is in the homologation process and is likely to be launched in India by end-2016. The middleweight streetfighter will be introduced here as an entry-level model and brought in as SKD (semi-knocked down) units.

The 2016 MV Agusta Brutale 800 gets lots of visual updates, including a revised fuel tank, exhaust pipes, headlamp, tail lamp, and much more. The streetfighter has been redesigned to make it more streamlined and aerodynamic, while providing a more aggressive look. Thanks to the new aluminium subframe a significant amount of weight has been cut down, making the Brutale 800 more nimble and agile.

Some changes have also been made to the three-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 798cc engine to meet Euro 4 emission standards. The motor churns out a maximum power output of 116bhp at 11,500 rpm and delivers a peak torque figure of 83Nm at 7,600 rpm, the latter hiked by almost 25 per cent compared to the previous model. Also, 90 per cent of the torque is now available from just 3,800 rpm onwards.

The frame has also been altered for the 2016 MV Agusta Brutale 800, with the provision of 20mm extra wheelbase and the trail increased by 8.5mm. The bike gets 43mm Marzocchi USD forks at the front and a single Sachs monoshock at the rear. The braking system includes two 320mm floating discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear from Brembo, along with Bosch ABS 9 Plus. The bike runs on new Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres which are being used for the first time ever on a standard production motorbike.

The Brutale 800 falls in the category of middleweight streetfighters like the Kawasaki Z800, Benelli TNT 899 and the Ducati Monster 821. However, the equipment and pricing of the upcoming motorcycle will enable it to share shelf space with litre-class machines like the Kawasaki Z1000, Suzuki GSX-S1000, Honda CB1000R and the Benelli TNT R.
