Ever since their launch, the Royal Enfield 650 twins have been well received in the Indian market. Despite the waiting period stretching into months, Royal Enfield enthusiasts have been patiently waiting for their twin-cylinder joy. Both the 650 twins on sale in India are currently BS4-compliant and with new emissions norms coming into effect next year, a test mule of the BS6 Interceptor 650 has been spotted testing.

We have only two images of the bike from the rear and the biggest difference on the 2020 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is the redesigned twin exhaust tips. While the changes look scant on the outside, we are sure RE engineers have made some significant modifications to make the 650cc engine BS6-compliant. Also, the test mule was sporting a rear seat cowl, which we feel could be offered as an accessory on the cafe racer next year.
Royal Enfield will be hiking the prices for the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650 from August 16. And if that wasn’t worrying enough for prospective buyers, the transition to BS6 engines is expected to increase the prices of the 650 twins even further! We expect the 2020 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 to make their India debut by early next year. Watch this space for more updates.
