Yamaha has pulled the wraps off its next-generation MT-03. For 2020, the new sports naked gets a sharp and angular design. It gets a new headlamp design thats similar to the MT-15. These have LED DRL’s and LED projector setup. The full digital dashboard gets a black on white LCD setup. Other cosmetic updates include LED turn indicators and new fuel tank extensions that now get larger air intakes. The rest of the bodywork appears to be carried over from the current MT-03. Colour options include Ice Fluo, Icon Blue and Midnight Black.

Also new on the motorcycle is the 37mm upside-down forks setup borrowed from the 2020 Yamaha R3. These replace the conventional units of the current generation MT-03. The motorcycle also gets a new, longer swingarm and a monoshock with revised spring rates. The rest of the underpinnings including 17-inch alloys, 298mm front disc and 220mm rear disc are the same as before. It gets a dual-channel ABS setup.
The 2020 MT-03 continues to be powered by a 321cc parallel-twin motor. It is expected to make around 42PS and 29.6Nm of torque similar to the 2020 R3.
The new MT-03 is expected to make its global debut at EICMA this year and launch worldwide by this year end. We could see the new MT-03 launch in India along with the 2020 R3 at the Auto Expo in February next year. Expect the new motorcycle to be priced in the region of Rs 3 to 3.2 lakh here.
