Yamaha India has unveiled the 2021 Fascino 125 Hybrid as well as the new RayZR 125. Both scooters have received nifty updates for this year that add to their practicality quotient.
The 2021 Yamaha Fascino 125 is powered by a BS6-compliant fuel-injected 125cc motor with ‘Hybrid Power Assist’ wherein the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) functions as an electric motor for power assist when you accelerate from a stop. About three seconds after starting or when the throttle is cut back or the engine rpm exceeds the prescribed level, the Power Assist function goes off.

The motor still makes 8.2PS of power whereas the toque has gone up to 10.3Nm, 0.6Nm more than before. Yamaha also claims to have improved fuel efficiency by 16 percent.
On the feature front, the 2021 Fascino 125 gets an LED headlight with DRLs, LED tail lamp, a full-digital console, and Bluetooth connectivity that lets you pair your smartphone via Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X APP. This, in turn, lets you answer calls, locate your vehicle, and access riding history. The Fascino 125 also gets a side-stand engine cut-off switch and an optional USB charger.
Yamaha hasn’t tinkered much with the Fascino 125’s aesthetics. It is offered in a standard variant with three new colours -- Vivid Red Special, Matt Black Special, Cool Blue Metallic -- apart from the existing options: Dark Matt Blue, Suave Copper, Yellow Cocktail, Cyan Blue, Vivid Red, and Metallic Black. The Deluxe variant too gets three new colours: Vivid Red, Cool Blue Metallic, and Yellow Cocktail.
The 2021 RayZR 125 gets hybrid power assist, LED headlight, USB charging port, and a new instrument console. It also features Bluetooth connectivity with SMS alerts and a smartphone app to check fuel consumption. The 2021 RayZR 125 will be offered in two variants like before: Standard and the Street Rally.
Yamaha is expected to reveal the prices of the new scooters by June end or early July. The 2021 Fascino 125 Hybrid and the RayZR 125 are likely to carry a premium given the number of changes they’ve undergone. Currently, the Fascino 125 is priced from Rs 72,030 and the RayZR 125 from Rs 73,330.
