The 2025 MT-03 and R3 now look even more aggressive and get more features

Yamaha unveiled the 2025 versions of the R3 and the MT-03 internationally and the motorcycles look absolutely menacing to say the least. Let’s have a look at what changes Yamaha has done to make them more appealing.

2025 Yamaha R3

The 2025 Yamaha R3 now looks even more aggressive. It gets a brand-new front end which is now in-tune with Yamaha’s new design language, previously seen on the R9. The 2025 R3 has a single LED projector headlight in the center and is surrounded by twin LED DRLs on either side which enhances the sporty appeal of the motorcycle. The front-facia also has integrated winglets which Yamaha claims will increase the downforce generated by the motorcycle. Yamaha has also reduced the width of the seat and side panels which they claim will allow the rider to put their feet down more easily and allow the motorcycle to become more accessible. In terms of features, the R3 has a new LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Yamaha’s MyRide app enabling call/SMS alerts, texts and email notifications to be displayed on the screen.

Mechanically the bike remains unchanged and it is powered by the same 321cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which makes 42PS at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm at 9,500rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip-and-assist clutch.

2025 Yamaha MT-03

The 2025 Yamaha MT-03 gets a new design as well. A centrally mounted LED headlight which gets LED DRLs on either side. The LED DRLs are now more aggressive in terms of looks which changes the motorcycle's looks. The MT-03 also gets the same LCD instrument cluster as the 2025 R3 along with the features it comes with. It is also powered by the same engine as the R3 and remains mechanically unchanged.

Price and India launch

The current Yamaha MT-03 and the R3 are priced at Rs 4,59,900 and Rs 4,64,900 respectively (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). We expect the 2025 models to command at a slight premium than the outgoing models. The 2025 models are expected to arrive at the Indian shores in mid 2025 and once launched, they will go against the likes of Aprilia RS 457, KTM 390 Duke and the upcoming Aprilia Tuono 457 in India.
