The renowned Japanese manufacturer-Kawasaki has recently launched the special edition version of its popular quarter-litre sportsbike Ninja 300 in India. The company introduced the model back in August last year internationally which was inspired from the company’s 30th anniversary theme. Besides this, the company also unveiled other models in the same graphics to celebrate 30 years of its existence. However, Ninja 300 had to wait a few more months before arriving at the Indian dealerships.
The new Ninja 300 comes wrapped in a dual toned green and white livery that seems very much close to the 30th anniversary colour scheme. Besides, the bike receives a “Special Edition” badging around the fuel cap. The front fairing has ‘300’ written on it that makes it special as it is not present on the models that are marketed in other foreign countries. Talking of colours, white paint has been eliminated from the option list. The instrument cluster also gets an impressive makeover with a better visibility for the tachometer at nights.
Mechanically, there are no changes and the bike continues to get powered by the same 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin motor that cranks out a net power of 39PS at 11,000rpm along with a maximum torque of 27Nm at 10,000rpm. If you were expecting an Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) in the updated version, it's time to face disappointment. However, one thing that can make a rejoicing factor is that the special edition Ninja 300 wont cost any extra penny than the standard model and will be available at a price of Rs. 3.61 lac (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
