Ola Electric has confirmed that the two products are on the anvil, and are likely to be launched in a few years’ time
Ola Electric has confirmed that it will be launching a mass-market electric scooter as well as an electric motorcycle in the future. The company hasn’t revealed any timelines yet but we reckon the launch, at least for the electric motorcycle, is still a few years away. As for the electric scooter, it could be based on the already-existing Ola S1 albeit without the fancy features. We wouldn’t be surprised if the affordable Ola electric scooter comes sometime later next year.
The more affordable Ola electric scooter could offer lower performance and slightly less range than the Ola S1. For perspective, the Ola S1 claims to offer a range of 121km, and comes with a 5.5kW motor producing 58Nm of torque. It could also get a lower top speed compared to the Ola S1’s 90kmph.

Its TFT touchscreen could also be replaced with a regular TFT unit to keep costs in check. That said, we reckon Ola will continue offering connectivity with navigation and OTA updates as standard.
It’s too early to comment about Ola’s electric motorcycle at the moment, especially considering it will have to build something from the ground up. It’ll be interesting to see where Ola Electric stands in the electric motorcycle segment that’s currently dominated by the Revolt RV 400. That said, the performance space will get electrified soon, thanks to the upcoming Ultraviolette F77. Exciting times indeed!
