From a retro to an Adventure and to supersport, which is the 650cc bike you would pick?

In recent times, India has seen an exponential growth in the demand for bikes with big capacity engines and manufacturers have jumped on this opportunity. So if you are in the market for a motorcycle in the 650cc capacity, here is a list of all bikes available in the 650cc segment in India.

 

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: 

Price: Rs 3.03 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Royal Enfield launched the Interceptor 650 in the year 2018 and it has been a hit ever since. The bike has developed a cult-like following ever since its inception. The manufacturer’s first 650cc twin-cylinder air-cooled engine makes 47.4PS and 54.3Nm. 

Royal Enfield Continental GT650: 

Price: Rs 3.19 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Royal Enfield’s second bike from the same 650cc platform features the same engine with the same specs. The bike comes in a cafe-racer format with clip-on handlebars, and looks really good. 

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650

Price: Rs 3.64 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The third bike from the Royal Enfield 650cc platform but in a cruiser format. The bike gets a different chassis suited for long distance cruising and has a much more relaxed seating ergonomics. Front-set footrests and low slung exhausts accentuate the cruiser appeal. 

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: 

Price: Rs 3.59 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Based upon the Super Meteor, the Shotgun 650 is the customizable platform made for those who want a personal touch on their motorcycles. The bike gets the same engine and specs as the other 650cc bikes from Royal Enfield. 

BSA Gold Star: 

Price: Rs 2.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The most affordable 650cc bike comes from the BSA stable and gets a single-cylinder liquid-cooled 652cc engine which makes 45PS and 55Nm and is the only motorcycle which gets a 5-speed gearbox. The Gold Star is a proper retro-looking motorcycle and gets halogen headlamps. 

Kawasaki Ninja 650: 

Price: Rs 7.16 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Ninja 650 is a fully-faired sports tourer from the Japanese manufacturer with a sporty stance. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets rear-set footpegs and clip-on handlebars. The Ninja 650 gets a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine which makes 67PS and 64Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. 

Kawasaki Z650: 

Price: Rs 6.65 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The street naked motorcycle from Kawasaki shares the platform with the Ninja 650 but gets different styling. The Z650 gets a more upright posture and straight handle bars to give it the stance of a naked motorcycle. 

Kawasaki Z650RS: 

Price: Rs 6.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Kawasaki Z650RS is a neo-retro motorcycle which shares the platform with the Z650 but gets a circular headlight and twin-pod instrument cluster. The bike gets retro styling but with all the modern creature comforts. 

Kawasaki Versys 650: 

Price: Rs 7.77 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Versys 650 is an adventure tourer motorcycle based upon the Kawasaki’s 650cc platform. The bike gets long travel suspension and upright-posture to be able to cruise for long distances. 

Kawasaki Vulcan S: 

Price: Rs 7.10 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Vulcan S is based on the same 650cc platform as the rest of the Kawasaki’s mentioned above and is the manufacturer’s take on a sports cruiser. 

Triumph Trident 660: 

Price: Rs 8.25 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Triumph Trident 660 is a neo-retro naked sports bike which gets a 660cc liquid-cooled inline-3 cylinder engine which makes 81PS and 64Nm mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike has a tear-drop shaped fuel tank and features a sporty stance.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660: 

Price: Rs 9.45 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Based upon the Trident 660, the Tiger Sport 660 is an adventure tourer motorcycle with upright posture and long travel suspension. It is the smallest bike which sports the Tiger badge and competes with the Kawasaki Versys 650.

Triumph Daytona 660: 

Price: Rs 9.72 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The third bike from the Triumph 660cc platform has the same engine as the Trident 660 but gets a different state of tune. The Daytona 660 makes 95PS and 69Nm. The bike gets clip-on handle bars and rear set footpegs to give it a sportier stance. 

Kawasaki ZX-6R: 

Price: Rs 11.20 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The full-blown middle-weight supersport bike from Kawasaki gets a 636cc inline-4 liquid-cooled engine that makes 124PS and 69Nm. The Kawasaki ZX-6R leaves no stones unturned in terms of being a proper sports bike. 

Moto Morini X-Cape 650: 

Price: Rs 5.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

An adventure bike powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine which makes 60PS and 54Nm paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is available in two variants: X-Cape 650 and X-Cape 650X. The X-Cape 650 gets alloys while the 650X gets spoke wheels. 

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½ :

Price: Rs 6.89 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

A roadster type motorcycle which gets the same engine as the X-Cape 650 but a different state of tune. It makes 56PS and 54Nm, available in two variants; as a street and a scrambler. The street gets alloys and the scrambler gets spoke wheels. 

Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono:

Price: Rs 16.50 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

A supermotard which is also the first modern Ducati to feature a single-cylinder engine. As the name suggests, the Hypermotard 698 Mono gets a 659cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which is the biggest single cylinder engine produced till date. It makes 77.4PS and 63Nm. 

Aprilia RS 660:

Price: Rs 17.74 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Aprilia RS 660 is a 660cc middleweight sports bike from the Italian manufacturer. It gets a 659cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor which makes 101PS and 67Nm. It gets all the bells and whistles you can get on a sports bike. 

Aprilia Tuono 660:

Price: Rs 17.74 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Based upon the RS 660, the Tuono 660 shares all the underpinnings such as the engine and the frame with the RS 660. It is the naked version of the RS 660 with straight handlebars giving it a more upright posture. 

Aprilia Tuareg 660:

Price: Rs 18.85 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi)

It is the most expensive 650cc category motorcycle on sale in India. The Tuareg 660 shares its motor with the RS 660 and the Tuono 660 but gets a different state of tune in which it makes 79PS and 70Nm. The Tuareg gets long travel suspension, spoke wheels and an upright posture which helps it stay true to its ADV nature. 

These are all the bikes on sale in India in the 650cc segment. From the single-cylinder BSA Gold Star to a screaming inline-4 Kawasaki ZX-6R. The 650cc segment has grown and is bigger than ever before. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to upgrade their ride from a 400cc-450cc to a mid-size motorcycle.
