Mechanically the bike remains the same
Hero MotoCorp has launched a new all-black variant of its 125cc commuter, the Super Splendor Canvas Black edition at Rs 77,430 for the drum variant and Rs 81,330 for the disc brake variant. The new colour scheme was first featured on the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec.
For a complete stealthy appeal, the new Hero Super Splendor not only comes in a gloss finish but also a darker matte finish. Both gloss and matte colours miss out on the sporty graphics found on the other colour schemes of the commuter.
It also gets a 3D logo of the company as well as the ‘Super Splendor’ brand, unlike the stickering job on the other variants. The gloss finish gets the Hero logo on the side rear panel, whereas the matte finish features the 3DM logo closer to the fuel tank on the side of the bike. Both finishes get a blacked pillion grab rail.

Mechanically, the bike remains completely unchanged and is powered by the same 124.7cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 10.8PS and 10.6Nm. The commuter’s suspension setup comprises a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers.
For braking, it gets a 130mm drum brake at both ends as standard, while the higher variant gets a 240mm disc up front.
This Canvas Black edition commands a premium of Rs 240 over the standard variant. The Super Splendor rivals the likes of Honda Shine and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.
