Piaggio India, the parent company of Vespa scooters has recently announced to launch its new products on September 1st in Mumbai. The ceremony will be done in the presence of famous Football player, Alessandro Del Piero who dedicated a decade of his life playing for Juventus.
The company has not officially revealed anything about the models to be launched. However, there is a healthy possibility that the company will be launching the upgraded versions of its existing models. Currently, Piaggio sells Vespa LX 125, VX 125, Vespa S and Elegante models in India. These have been fitted with a 125cc four-stroke engine that generates a maximum power of 10bhp at 7,500bhp along with a peak torque of 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm.
Vespa had earlier showcased the Vespa GTS 300 at India Bike Week 2015 in Goa. The unveiling might be a hint that the manufacturer will launch it in near future. The scooter is powered by a 278cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that churns out 21.1bhp of power and 22.3Nm of torque. The machine is coupled with an automatic CVT gearbox and has been fitted with 12-inch wheels at both ends that further features powerful 220mm disc brakes. This Vespa has been blessed with a couple of advanced features such as a traction control system and an ABS. If launched, the Indian buyers will have to shell out approximately Rs. 1 lac in order to park it in their garage.
