We decode the differences between the electric scooter’s two variants
Bajaj has finally launched its first electric product, the Chetak, in India. This electric scooter will be available in two variants: Urbane and Premium. Here’s what you need to know about the two:
Colours:
The Urbane variant being the more affordable one gets a solid gloss paint finish. It will be available in two shades: Cyber White and Citrus Rush. It gets a black seat with grey stitching, black floor mats, silver bezels, and matte black wheels.

The Premium variant gets a metallic gloss paint finish and is available in four colours: Brooklyn Black, Hazelnut, Indigo Metallic and Velluto Rosso. Other cosmetic features include a tan seat with light tan stitching, dark grey floor mats, satin silver bezels, and an option of either Slate Grey or Satin Black alloy wheels.
Features:
The Urbane variant gets drum brakes on both wheels while the Premium variant gets the added safety of a front disc brake. Also, while you will have to shell out extra for the home charger, it comes free with the Premium variant.
Pricing:
The Urbane variant is priced at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom Pune and Bengaluru). It will be the most affordable way to get into the Bajaj electric club.
In comparison, the Premium variant with the extra goodies will cost Rs 15,000 extra. It is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the added features on offer, it is a reasonable upgrade for the extra safety and convenience.
