Home grown two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Ltd. has launched a new 125cc executive commuter called Discover 125T at Rs. 52,500 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Rajiv Bajaj, MD Bajaj Auto Ltd, earlier announced that Bajaj is about to launch 6 new Discover series bikes and the Discover 125T is first in the row. The 125T is similar to the 125ST apart from the mono-shock suspension at the rear, which wasn't a welcomed by commuters. The regular 5-step adjustable Nitrox suspension has also helped Bajaj to reduce the price of the bike.
Apart from new rear suspension, the 125T is similar to Discover 125ST and more we can see that it fills the gap between Discover 100T and 125ST. It is a smart move by Bajaj that they are providing multiple options in the same segment. While Discover 125ST will attract the youth because of its sporty appeal and monoshock suspension, the Discover 125T will target the people of other age group, who prefer the other suspension unit.
The Discover 125T uses the same 124.6cc, 4-valve mill, which now produces 12.5PS @ 9,000rpm and 10.8Nm @ 6,000rpm. There is a difference of 0.5PS between the 125ST and 125T, however the torque figure remains same, but the peak torque has become 500rpm quicker on the 125T. Bajaj claims that Discover 125T returns a mileage of 66kmpl. The Discover 125T has been made available in two variants, D125T with drum brakes at the front and rear has been priced at Rs 52,500, whereas the disc brake version comes at a price tag of Rs 55,500, both prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
