The recent price revision has helped Bajaj position the Pulsar 150 as a premium alternative to the Pulsar 125 while retaining its value for money quotient. Here’s how
Recently, Bajaj announced a price hike for its Pulsar range of motorcycles. While most motorcycles received a price revision ranging between Rs 900 to Rs 1,200, the Pulsar 150 Neon received a substantial hike of Rs 4,000. It now costs Rs 75,200 (ex-showroom). We reached out to Bajaj regarding this and received the following explanation.
Before the price revision, the gap between the Pulsar 125 Neon and the Pulsar 150 Neon was just Rs 4,582. But now, the price gap between the two has gone up by Rs 8,528, helping Bajaj pitch the 150 as a more premium alternative.

At Rs 66,618, the Pulsar 125 Neon is already competitively priced and costs less than the Honda CB Shine SP (Rs 68,938) and Hero Glamour FI (Rs 69,950). Bajaj currently sells a split-seat version of the Pulsar 125 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana which costs Rs 70,618. With the price revision, even this model now costs Rs 4,582 lesser than the 150. This sounds like a more justifiable price gap considering there was barely any difference apart from a few extra ceecees between these two bikes earlier.
Meanwhile, Bajaj has been hiking prices of the Dominar 400 ever since it was launched in April this year. The price hikes in the past have resulted in the motorcycle becoming Rs 16,000 more expensive than when it was first launched. You can read about it here
