The Pulsar RS200 was recently updated with dual-channel ABS
- The engine has been updated to comply with BS6 emission norms.
- Performance from the 199.5cc engine is likely to remain unchanged.
- Unofficial bookings for the faired bike have commenced across India.
The updates just keep rolling in, and the most recent bike to be modernised to meet BS6 emission norms is the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. The BS4 RS200, which cost Rs 1,42,118, was last updated with dual-channel. The BS6 update has resulted in a price hike of Rs 1,632, taking the price tag up to Rs 1,43,750 (ex-showroom Mumbai). Interested customers can book the bike for a token amount as low as Rs 1,000, depending on the dealership. Our dealer sources have suggested that the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 could be launched towards the end of February 2020.
Updates are kept to the bare minimum with changes being made to the engine, cat-con and the addition of an ECU. While power figures are unknown, it’s likely to remain unchanged. For reference, the BS4 RS400 makes 24.5PS at 9750rpm and 18.6Nm at 8000rpm through its 199.5cc motor.
Same goes for its underpinnings as well. The Pulsar RS200 BS6 will continue using a telescopic fork and a monoshock with disc brakes at both ends, coupled with dual-channel ABS. It goes up against the likes of Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 and the KTM RC 200.
