The Tornado 302R is the faired version of its existing naked sibling, the TNT 300 and it is also the first faired motorcycle from Benelli to be offered in the country
Benelli has entered the faired entry-level sportsbike segment with the Tornado 302R. It is the first faired motorcycle offered by the Italian bikemaker in the country. According to our sources, the Tornado is expected to be launched on May 10, 2017 and deliveries will commence by May 15, 2017. Dealerships have already started taking bookings for the motorcycle for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The Tornado 302R was first showcased in the Auto Expo 2016. The motorcycle is built around a modern steel-tube trellis frame chassis which provides agility while maneuverings. It is powered by a 300cc parallel-twin engine which produces 38PS @ 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 27.4Nm @ 9,000rpm mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Braking duties are done by dual 260mm petal discs at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear. ABS is likely to be offered as standard. The Tornado 302R gets inverted telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. The motorcycle is likely to get sticky Metzeler tyres with 110-section at front and 150-section at the rear. Fuel tank capacity of the motorcycle is 14 litres.
We expect the Tornado 302R to be priced between Rs 4 – 4.5 lakh. Once launched, the motorcycle will face competition from the KTM RC 390, Yamaha YZF R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the soon to be launched TVS Akula 310.
