The Indo-Italian joint venture, DSK Benelli, might bring its most affordable motorcycle- TNT 15 along with 4 other products at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. With the launch of TNT 25 at a very competitive pricing, the manufacturer has already suggested that it is going to play aggressively in the premium motorcycle segment. So, we are now speculating that the company will come up with the more affordable TNT 15 in the market, again with an aggressive pricing.
Based on a complete new platform, Benelli TNT 15 shares the styling cues with its elder sibling- TNT 25. The bike features an aggressive appearance with masculine fuel tank, shrouds and a bold headlamp. It also has a raised tail section along with split seats and a street tracker type handlebar that provides a sporty yet comfortable riding posture.
Powering the motorcycle is a new 148cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is expected to make around 16bhp of maximum power. The motor has been mated to a 5-speed gearbox and a carburetor type fuel supply system has been provided to feed it.
Benelli TNT 15 runs on 17”, 6-spoke front and rear alloy wheels that are expected to get 90/90 section and 120/80 section tubeless tyre respectively. Unlike the other Benelli bikes that are available in India with USD front forks, the TNT 15 features normal telescopic forks at the front. However, it gets a hydraulic mono-shock at the rear. The braking system comprises of a wave-type disc at the front and a drum type unit on the rear wheel.
If launched in India, Benelli TNT 15 will be priced around Rs. 1 lac and it will compete with the existing offerings like Yamaha FZ Ver.2.0, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Suzuki Gixxer SF.
