Let's find out how the newest Italian/Chinese entry-level ADV fares against its Austrian rival
As we know, during the lockdown most of the people had no other option but to surf the internet, and in the meantime, a lot of folks came across adventure touring. This not only increased awareness but has also hiked sales of the entry-level ADVs in the country. Keeping this in mind, Benelli has hopped ontothe bandwagon with its TRK 251. And since we already have the KTM 250 Adventure, let's see how it fares against the newly launched Benelli ADV, via detailed images.
Starting with the design, both motorcycles look tall, sharp and rugged thanks to their chunky alloys, windscreens, and USD forks up front. The fascia of the Benelli TRK 251 mounts a sharp break up front and an aerodynamically styled twin projector LED headlight setup with DRLs. Meanwhile, the KTM 250 Adventure mounts an LED headlight with twin DRLs, knuckle guards and LED indicators.
Moving to the side, you'll notice both bikes get quite a few graphics, tank extensions, a split-type seat and a tail rack. However, the tank extensions on the TRK 251 also mount LED turn indicators. Moreover, while the TRK 251 gets an 18-litre fuel tank, the 250 Adventure only comes equipped with a 14.5-litre unit.
The tail section of both bikes is again lean and sharp. While the TRK 251 gets a rectangular LED taillight, the 250 Adventure mounts a split-type LED unit.
On the features front, the TRK 251 makes do with a fully digital LCD instrument cluster (without Bluetooth connectivity) and dual-channel ABS, while the 250 Adventure gets adjustable levers, off-road-ready footpegs, dual-channel switchable ABS and a 12V charging socket under the instrument cluster.

Powering the new TRK 251 is a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that puts out 25.83PS and 21.1Nm. Meanwhile, the 250 Adventure draws power from a 248.76cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit that delivers 30PS and 24Nm. Both these engines further come mated to a six-speed transmission.
The ride on both ADVs is taken care of by a USD fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking, the KTM 250 Adventure mounts a bigger 320mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at the rear, while the TRK 251 uses a 280mm/240mm disc setup.
The rear wheel size is identical on both the ADVs as they both use a 17-inch alloy. However, there's a difference up front, as the KTM 250 Adventure mounts a bigger 19-inch alloy wheel. Besides, while the TRK 251 uses road-biased rubber, the 250 Adventure sports MRF Mogrip Meteor FM2 tyres.
Moving on to price, the KTM 250 Adventure is priced at Rs 2.35 lakh while the newly launched Benelli TRK 251 will set you back by Rs 2.51 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi).
