BMW is not only known for its luxury cars, but its GS series of motorcycles are famous across the globe for their terrific on road touring capabilities. The bike has now been immortalized by 2 documentaries, known as “Long way round” and “Long way down”. Therefore, BMW Motorrad decided to revamp the celebrated BMW R1200GS so that it becomes better touring bike on the whole. BMW R 1200GS price in India is Rs 15.81 lakh ex-showroom in Mumbai.
Amongst so many changes, the major change in the BMW R 1200GS is that it will come with the improved engine cooling system. This would be 4 stroke twin cylinder engine, which will still keep hold of the iconic boxer architecture and come with water cooled unit that will in turn provide better reliability and superb fuel efficiency.
The brand new BMW R 1200GS was recently spotted around the BMW headquarters located in Munich, Germany. Many of the air cooled twin cylinder bikes, such as Harley Davidson series come with exhaust port of the bikes. The present BMW R 1200GS model has exhaust port, which is positioned on the front of engine to make sure that it does the best cooling to the engine.
With the new BMW R 1200GS motorcycle, the exhaust port is placed under the cylinder head, which is the major change in the engine. However, the leaked images of the revamped BMW R 1200GS motorcycle don’t show the exhaust port positioning but according to some reliable sources, the radiator fan is pretty visible from a duct near the headstock.
Apart from the water cooling part, some other changes of BMW R 1200GS motorcycle will have the shaft mechanism positioned on the left side of the bike, which was earlier on the right side. There are a lot of expectations from BMW R 1200GS. Luxury is always the known the main core of BMW bikes and hopefully the new and improved version of BMW R 1200GS will not disappoint the consumers.
