The updated 2024 Jawa 42 has been launched in India. The manufacturer has updated the bike’s engine, suspension setup and single-piece seat to make it more refined and comfortable than before. It also gets 6 new colours, bringing the total colour options to 14.
What Is The 2024 Jawa 42 Price & Who Are The Rivals?
Prices for the 2024 Jawa 42 start at Rs 1,72,942 and go up to Rs 1,98,142 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 16,200 cheaper than the previous model. It competes with other roadsters in the 300-350cc segment like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Honda CB350RS and TVS Ronin.
What’s New On The Updated Jawa 42?
The 2024 Jawa 42 now gets a 294cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, J-Panther engine that produces a peak output of 27.32PS and 26.84Nm (same as before). However, Jawa claims the engine has been tuned to be more refined than before and allows smoother gear shifts from the six-speed gearbox, especially on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. It also gets a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
The new Jawa 42 is now available in three variants. The base variant, priced at Rs 1,72,942 (ex-showroom Delhi) gets an analogue instrument console with a digital inset and a single-channel ABS. It is fitted with spoke wheels, wrapped with tube tyres and is only available in gloss colours.
Prices for the mid-spec variant start at Rs 1,82,942 (ex-showroom Delhi). It gets all the features of the base variant but is equipped with a dual-channel ABS as standard.
The top variant is available from Rs 1,89,142 (ex-showroom). It features a fully digital instrument console, a USB charging port, dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels and tubeless tyres as standard. It is available in matte colours, with single-tone and dual-tone options.
The Jawa gets a telescopic fork and gas-charged twin shock absorbers with preload adjustability. Jawa has also heard the customer feedback and has tuned the suspension setup to make the bike more comfortable. The single-piece seat now has better padding and gets more foam as well. Jawa claims the ground clearance has also been improved.
What Remains Unchanged On The 2024 Jawa 42?
Braking on the Jawa 42 is still managed by a 280mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. As mentioned the base variant gets single-channel ABS while the mid and top variant has dual-channel ABS. The Jawa 42 rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, fitted with 90-section front and 120-section rear tyres.
